My role at ThisWorks
Hello, I’m Beate, and I have been part of the ThisWorks team since October 2025.
Before joining the world of EOR, I spent many years working for a German statutory health insurance provider. As a result, German social security and employment law have become something of a professional home turf for me.
Finding my way into the EOR industry was actually more coincidence. It all started when I supported my son in building his own EOR company and setting up its German branch in Berlin. That experience opened the door to a completely new industry - one that turned out to be a surprisingly good fit.
At ThisWorks, most of my work happens behind the scenes. My role in the backoffice is to support the team with legal questions and administrative matters, particularly when things get a little more complicated. And that is actually the part I enjoy most: digging into tricky cases, researching the details and finding a solution that is not only legally correct, but also pragmatic and works for everyone involved.
What makes the EOR industry particularly interesting is the combination of people, business and legislation across different countries and cultures. There is always something new to learn, and rarely are two cases exactly the same.
Being part of a dynamic, international team where teamwork truly matter and contributing my German expertise to finding solutions together is something I really enjoy about working at ThisWorks.
More about me
Outside of work, I volunteer with Berliner Tafel, supporting its work for people in need. Contributing to my local community is something I find both important and rewarding.
I also love being in the nature, spending time with friends, travelling around the world and enjoying everything Berlin has to offer. And if there’s a chance for a night of dancing in one of Berlin’s great clubs, I’m always in.
