My role at ThisWorks 

Hello, I’m Tarun Arora, Payroll Specialist at ThisWorks.

I joined ThisWorks in February 2026, bringing more than six years of experience in international payroll. I began my payroll career in 2019 and have since worked with several organisations in the industry, developing broad experience in global payroll operations and compliance.

In 2023, I moved into the Employer of Record sector. This gave me a wider view of payroll and its role within international employment. EOR payroll involves more than processing salary figures: it requires close coordination between employee administration, local requirements, internal teams and client information.

At ThisWorks, I am closely involved in the operational side of payroll. I work with colleagues to coordinate payroll information, follow deadlines and help ensure that the details required for each payroll cycle are complete and accurate. Working closer to the day-to-day processes has helped me understand how different functions come together to deliver a reliable experience for employees and clients.

My academic background is in a different field: I hold a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering. Choosing to build my career in payroll was an unexpected change of direction, but it has become one of the most rewarding decisions I have made. I enjoy the combination of structure, accuracy and continuous learning that international payroll offers.
